Congo Short Term Mission Trip Update on Chip Frey
Our Lord continues to use our brother, Chip Frey, in numerous ways.
Chip left for the Congo on Sunday, October 25th and after several days of travel (including several river crossings) he arrived in Imfondo. This is where the Pioneer Christian Hospital and Kimea Leprosy Center are located. He traveled with teammates, Jim and John, from other US churches. After delivering needed supplies for missionaries, Chip has been upgrading electrical, solar and well pump systems for missionary residences and the Center. He has been working with a couple of local young men to get more accomplished and also to impart some electrical trade knowledge to them. Team member, Dr. John Look from Minnesota is also providing medical care, including dental surgery with limited facilities as a member of the Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA). The same organization that Dean and Linda Cloutier do their STMs through.
Praise that the Government has given two buildings adjacent to the Leprosy Center to them to be used for families of patients, but they need some work; mostly new doors, windows and a coat of paint. The Minister of Health is currently in charge of the Hospital and will make a decision on the leadership of it after the beginning of the year. Please pray for the leadership and for those who are in need of these facilities; that they will be healed physically and spiritually saved through the loving power of Jesus Christ.
Chip plans to return the week of November 16, so also pray for safe travels and continued joy in this ministry that he has been a part of for the past 20 years.
