COVID-19 and Christ Chapel
Dear Christ Chapel Family,
We are intently watching the developments of COVID-19 also known as coronavirus. It is critical to remain calm and we encourage common-sense measures to limit exposure. Hand washing and normal flu precautions are a must. The CDC has identified those in the higher age brackets are at the highest risk, especially those with complicating existing conditions. It also appears that children seem to be only mildly or completely unaffected, yet can transmit the virus.
With this in mind, we highly recommend those who are immune system compromised or have a medical condition that increases your risk, to stay away from large gatherings as much as possible. We strongly believe that preventive measures will significantly limit the spread of infection.
Out of an abundance of caution, if you or your children are ill, even mildly, please keep them home. Children presenting any symptoms will not be admitted to any Sunday or mid-week youth program. At this time we do not plan to split into multiple smaller worship services. We ask everyone to use discernment - if you are at risk or present a risk to others, please stay home. Being a risk to others includes having traveled out of the country this past week. Please inform us and those you come in contact with should you become ill.
We are exploring ways to allow for remote connectivity from home to participate in the Sunday service. We will not be having our normal greeting time and the elements of communion will not be passed. This time will be used for prayer and reflection as a body.
Unfortunately, we expect upcoming conferences, as many large gatherings are, to be canceled. If you were planning on attending a conference soon, all experts are recommending you should not participate.
