We Have More Than We Know
Dear Friends,
Imagine discovering that something you’ve owned for years, something you thought was ordinary, was actually priceless. That’s exactly what happened on an episode of Antiques Roadshow when a man learned that his family’s old, unassuming Navajo blanket—often draped over the back of a chair—was worth half a million dollars. Can you imagine the shock, the awe, the immediate change in how he viewed and treated that blanket?
Now consider this: as believers, we carry within us the most precious treasure imaginable—the Spirit of the living God. This treasure, this indwelling Spirit, is far beyond earthly value. It’s the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead, the same Spirit that heals, restores, and gives life. Yet, how often do we treat this treasure casually, as if it’s just “there,” draped over the back of our lives?
Take a moment to think about it. Do you realize the value of what you’ve been given? Do you fully grasp the power, the grace, and the purpose of the Holy Spirit within you? Like the man with the blanket, many of us don’t recognize the worth of what we carry. But once we do, it changes everything. We no longer live passively; we live purposefully. We no longer settle for ordinary lives; we embrace the extraordinary power of God in us.
The treasure we hold is what the world is desperately searching for in all the wrong places. It is the Spirit that sustains us now and will raise us up on the last day. This treasure is not just meant to adorn our lives—it is meant to transform them.
So today, ask yourself: What am I doing with the treasure God has entrusted to me? Am I living as though I know its worth? My friends, let us treat this treasure with the reverence, gratitude, and stewardship it deserves. Let us walk boldly, knowing we carry within us the greatest gift of all—God’s very Spirit.
With Gratitude, Pastor Jesse
