One Week to Live

What would change if you knew you had only one week to live?

Would the daily pressures and routines still hold your attention? Likely not. With 168 hours left, most likely your heart would turn to what truly matters. You’d make the calls, write the letters, speak the truth, and express love more freely. You’d seek to reconcile what’s broken. You’d pass on what matters most. You’d live with a clarity and focus that comes only when time feels sacred and precious.

Jesus entered Jerusalem on what we now call Palm Sunday with full knowledge: His time had come. In just one week, He would lay down His life. The crowds cheered, waving palm branches and shouting praises. They saw Him as a teacher, a healer, a prophet. They celebrated what He had done.

But Jesus knew they needed more. They needed to see who He was.

The Messiah. The long-awaited King. The Redeemer. God in flesh.

He wasn’t simply a miracle-worker or wise voice in the crowd. He was the fulfillment of every promise, the Lamb who would be slain, the Savior of the world. As Isaiah had declared centuries before, “He shall be called... Mighty God.” And now, the Mighty God rode in—not on a warhorse, but on a donkey. Not to conquer kingdoms, but to conquer sin and death itself.

How do you see Jesus?

With Gratitude, Pastor Jesse
