He Is Risen: Belief or Conviction

There is a vast difference between thinking something is true and knowing it with every fiber of your being. That difference is the gap between belief and conviction. Here is the difference. A belief is something you hold. A conviction is something that holds you. A belief may be debated. A conviction will define your life—and, if needed, be something you’d die for.

Let me ask you a question. When it comes to the resurrection of Jesus Christ, what lives in your heart? Is it mere belief, or unwavering conviction?

This question is not hypothetical. It shapes how you live each and every day. If the resurrection is only something you believe in because you were taught it, or because it’s tradition, your foundation may be shaky. Life’s storms have a way of exposing shallow roots. Doubt slips in quietly, and when it does, it doesn’t just whisper uncertainty about Jesus’ resurrection, it casts a long shadow over every promise in Scripture.

But when the resurrection becomes your conviction—when it becomes the truth that anchors your soul—everything changes. Doubt loses its grip. Your heart lifts its gaze from this temporal world to the eternal. Your values shift. Your choices begin to reflect eternity, not just today. The trials of life are no longer final; they become temporary chapters in an eternal story.

Without the resurrection, the cross is a tragedy. But with the resurrection, the cross becomes the triumph of God’s love. Death has been defeated. The grave has lost its sting. And because He lives, we too shall live.

Let this truth define you: Jesus is alive!

This is not just a suggestion, but the cornerstone of our faith. It is not just a beautiful idea. It is a divine reality. Trust in the resurrection of Christ with all your heart and allow that conviction to shape your thoughts, your emotions, your choices, and your hope.

If Jesus walked out of that tomb, and He did, then nothing is impossible. Eternity awaits us. And the life you live now is forever changed by the One who conquered death.

He is risen! He is risen indeed!

With Gratitude, Pastor Jesse
